Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information our games and apps (each one, "the game") collect, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read. It covers every game we publish; a feature described here applies only if the game you play has it. If something is unclear, write to us (see "Contact").
1. Who we are
Each game is made and published by Didem Erol, a sole trader trading as Unicorn Cat Studio ("Unicorn Cat Studio", "we", "us"), Flat 65 Jargonelle House, 17 Pavana Square, London TW8 0XW, United Kingdom. We are the "controller" of the information described here.

2. The short version
- The game does not ask you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contact list, photos or precise location.
- Your game progress is stored on your device. We do not keep a copy on our servers. If you use iCloud on iPhone or iPad, a saved game is also kept in your own iCloud account by Apple.
- With your consent, we and our partners use your device's advertising ID and information about how you play to show you ads that suit you and to understand and improve the game.
- If you decline, you still get the whole game. Ads are less relevant and we collect no usage analytics.
- Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We never see your card number.
- You can change your choice at any time in the game under Settings → Privacy options, and delete your data with Settings → Delete my data (section 9).
3. What we collect and why
| Information | Examples | Why we use it | Needs your consent? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gameplay and device data created by the game | A random user ID created on first start (not linked to your name), game progress, level, settings, purchases you made (to deliver them) | To run the game, save your progress on your device, deliver what you bought | No (needed to provide the game) |
| Analytics | Events such as levels reached, orders completed, screens opened, session length, device model, operating system version, language, country (derived from your IP address), app version | To understand how the game is played, find problems and balance the game | Yes in the EEA, UK and Switzerland |
| Advertising data | Advertising ID (IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android), IP address, device and app information, which ads were shown, clicked or watched | To show ads (including rewarded videos), limit how often they appear, measure them, and — with consent — personalise them | Personalised ads and the advertising ID: yes in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. On iOS, Apple's tracking permission also applies (section 6) |
| Purchase information | Product bought, price, store receipt or transaction ID, date | To deliver your purchase, restore it, prevent fraud and keep accounts of sales. Payment itself is handled by Apple or Google | No |
| Remote settings | Game settings, events and offers we send to the app (a Firebase Remote Config request includes an installation ID and basic device information) | To run events, seasons and offers without needing an app update | No |
| Notifications | If you allow them, the game schedules reminders (for example for a daily reward) on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server | To remind you about rewards | Yes, through the system permission |
| Messages you send us | Your email and what you write, if you contact support | To answer you | No |
We do not knowingly collect health, biometric, financial-account or precise location data, and we do not use your information to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
4. Who receives information (our partners)
We share information only with service providers that help us run the game, and only as needed for the purposes above:
- Advertising: Unity LevelPlay (Unity Technologies / ironSource) and the ad networks it works with. They receive advertising IDs, IP address and device and ad-interaction data to deliver, measure and, with consent, personalise ads. Unity's privacy policy is at https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy. The networks that can receive data through LevelPlay change over time, and each has its own privacy policy; write to us at privacy@unicorncatstudio.com for the current list. These companies act as independent controllers or as processors, depending on the partner.
- Analytics: Google Firebase (Google Analytics for Firebase and Remote Config) and GameAnalytics. They receive the user ID, device information and gameplay events. Firebase: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy. GameAnalytics: https://gameanalytics.com/privacy/. Analytics is switched off for you unless you agree (in the regions where we ask).
- Saved game: Apple iCloud (iPhone and iPad, only if you use it). Your saved game is stored in your iCloud account under Apple's terms and privacy policy. We do not receive or read it.
- Purchases: Apple App Store and Google Play. They process payments under their own terms and privacy policies and tell the game that a purchase happened.
- Law and safety. We may disclose information if the law requires it, to protect rights, safety and security, or in a merger or sale of our business (you would be told).
We do not sell your information for money. Sharing advertising data with ad partners for personalised ads can count as "sharing" or "selling" under some laws; see section 10.
5. Where information is processed
Our partners operate worldwide, including in the United States. When information about people in the EEA, UK or Switzerland is transferred outside those regions, it is protected by an adequacy decision, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or standard contractual clauses, depending on the partner. Ask us if you want details.
6. Your choices and how consent works
- Consent form. It names the purposes and our main partners and links to the full list above. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland (we judge this from your device's region setting), the game asks you when you first open it and again about once a year, or when we change the purposes or partners. Agree and Decline are equally easy. Until you answer, the advertising SDK is not started; until you agree, analytics and personalised ads stay off. We keep a record of your answer (the choice, the date and the version of the form) on your device so we can ask again when it is due, and so you can see it in Settings.
- Change your mind. Open Settings → Privacy options at any time to agree or withdraw. Withdrawing does not affect what happened before, and it is as easy as agreeing.
- iOS tracking permission. On iPhone and iPad, Apple's prompt asks whether the game may track you across other companies' apps and websites. If you say no, we and our partners do not use the IDFA for this game. You can change it in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Device ad settings. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings (iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising; Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Notifications. Turn them off in your device settings at any time.
- Outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland the game does not show a form. Open Settings → Your Privacy Choices and switch it on to stop personalised ads based on your data; you can switch it off again at any time. You can also use the device settings above, decline Apple's tracking prompt, or write to us.
7. How long we keep information
- Game progress stays on your device until you delete the game, clear its data or use Settings → Delete my data. A saved game in iCloud stays until you use Delete my data or remove it in your iCloud settings.
- Analytics and advertising data are kept by our partners according to their retention settings. We set analytics retention to the shortest period that is practical for us, and set Firebase event-level data to be kept for 2 months.
- Purchase records are kept as long as the law requires for accounting and tax.
- Emails you send us are kept while we help you and for a reasonable time after, then deleted.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, and our partners use industry-standard protection. No system is perfectly secure.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the Swiss FADP), you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy (access, portability),
- correct it (rectification),
- delete it (erasure),
- restrict or object to some uses, including direct marketing and uses based on our legitimate interests,
- withdraw consent at any time (see section 6).
Deleting your data in the game
You can delete your data from inside the game at any time: open Settings and tap Delete my data. After you confirm, the game removes:
- your game progress and the settings stored with it;
- the purchase and reward records kept on your device;
- your saved game in iCloud, if you use it (on iPhone and iPad);
- the consent choices you made in the game, so you will be asked again where we ask for consent.
The game then starts again as if you had just installed it, and your analytics identifier on the device is replaced with a new one. Your sound, music and haptics switches stay as they are. Anything you bought stays with your Apple or Google account, and the store handles it: you can restore purchases from Settings.
Data we already received
The in-game deletion removes data on your device and in your iCloud. Usage and crash data that was already sent to our analytics providers (Firebase and GameAnalytics) is tied to an anonymous identifier, and the game cannot reach it. To have it deleted, write to privacy@unicorncatstudio.com from any address and include the short user ID shown at the bottom of Settings (before you delete your data, because deleting replaces it). We answer within one month, and delete the data linked to that ID from Firebase and GameAnalytics.
Other rights
Where the law gives you the right to access, correct, restrict or object to the use of your data, or to withdraw consent, write to the same address with your user ID. Without the ID we may not be able to find any data about you. We answer within one month.
You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. In the EU you can find yours at https://edpb.europa.eu/about-edpb/about-edpb/members_en; in the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office (https://ico.org.uk); in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (https://www.edoeb.admin.ch).
10. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR; and the ePrivacy rules for reading information on your device): analytics, advertising ID and personalised ads.
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b)): running the game, saving your settings, delivering purchases.
- Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): showing non-personalised ads that keep the game free, limiting how often ads appear, securing the game and preventing fraud and abuse, and basic business records. You can object (section 9).
- Legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)): accounting and tax records.
11. United States and other regions
If you live in California or another US state with a privacy law, you have the right to know what we collect (see section 3), to ask for access, deletion and correction, and to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, but personalised advertising through ad partners can count as sharing under these laws. To opt out, switch on Settings → Your Privacy Choices in the game (it tells our ad partners not to sell or share your data for targeted ads), decline Apple's tracking prompt, limit or reset your advertising ID in your device settings, or write to privacy@unicorncatstudio.com. We will not discriminate against you for using these rights. You may use an authorised agent; we may ask to verify the request using your user ID.
12. Children
The game is not designed for children under 13 (or the higher age that applies where you live for giving consent to data processing, which is up to 16 in some EU countries). We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
13. Links and other companies' services
The game may open links to websites and to the App Store or Google Play. Their privacy practices are theirs, not ours.
14. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the game, our partners or the law change, and change the date at the top. If a change affects what you agreed to (for example a new purpose), the game asks again.
